Bolt Tuned Pakhawaj
The Pakhawaj, or pakhawaja or pakhavaj is a traditional Indian drum used in the dhrupad style. It has a low melodic tone. The drum is traditionally played on a cushion in front of the drummer, with the bass side smeared with wheat dough, which is the cause of the pakhawaj's bass tone.
This pakhawaj is 24" long, two-headed wooden shell drum with bolt tension. Held horizontally, the two opposing heads are bass and tenor. Wrench is included. The small head is approximately 6". The large head is 10 1/4".
