Additional information regarding NESHRI, from a recent newsletter:
I want to formally invite you to join the New England Sound Healing Research Institute (NESHRI), and to join in our upcoming sound healing events.  NESHRI was formed in November of 2002 as a worldwide network of sound healers with the goals of sharing experience and knowledge, coordinating workshops and educational programs, and conducting informal and formal research into the effects of sound and music on healing and building community.
NESHRI has a growing membership with benefits including practitioner/directory listings on our web site, web pages (soon available), article publications, event listings and publications, event discounts, and more.  One of NESHRI's primary goals is to further research into the nature and effectiveness of sound healing modalities.  We will be assisting members in creating and participating in research opportunities.  Soon individual web pages will also be available for members.
We have practitioners whom are active using sound healing in therapeutic applications as massage therapists, clinical psychotherapists, reiki therapists, and more.  They use, and teach methods, in the use of sound, with voice, instruments (including, but not limited to drums, crystal and Tibetan bowls, bells, and gongs, didgeridoo, and classical western and eastern instruments,) tuning forks, sound tables.  They utilize and teach sound therapies in intuitive and scientific approaches to sound.

We welcome you to come and check us out at www.neshri.org.  We are excited about new/upgraded features of the site, but more is to come.  We have just begun our directory listings (members have just begun their listings.)  Much more will soon be added to the web site, including greater information about our organization and sound healing, research opportunities, etc.

You may join as a user/member without any fee, and add your name to the NESHRI mail list, in order to receive free updates on sound healing events listed by members, and other sound healing news.  (We will not be using the list you received this mail from, to forward NESHRI news to you, on any regular basis, so please sign up if you would like such news.  Your name/address is not shared with others.)

NESHRI is fast becoming a premier organization to further the use and research of sound as a healing modality.  Whether your interest is personal or professional, visit us, list yourself as a member to receive our newsletters, join for the simple $35/year directory listing or $55/year web page memberships, or donate to our soon to be non-profit status to further the work our members are engaged in.  As a professional, this is an awesome opportunity to associate with a working Sound Healing Network, which will gain you greater visibility in search engines on line, the most effective method of exposure on-line, as we will be generating high visibility in search engine rankings through our awareness of search engine strategies, high profile content of sound healing information, and service based organization.

We appreciate your assistance in furthering our networking efforts.
Please consider adding www.neshri.org to your links page.  If you are a service based organization, we will consider reciprocal links to your site.
(Please consider adding http://www.thecenteroflight.net as a sound healing reference, as well.)

NESHRI presented its First Annual Conference of the New England Sound Healing Research Institute in April of 2004.  We had over 85 individuals gather with about 15 highly experienced teachers of various sound healing modalities sharing their work.  We feel this was a most successful first year event, and intend to nurture and grow this event through each year.
We are looking at sites for our Annual NESHRI Conference in Spring, 2005.  We are considering conference/retreat centers, universities, and the like.  If you know of a worthy site for consideration, for a conference with multiple classrooms, meal and overnight facilities for up to 200, please advise us of such.  We are hoping to find a suitable site in the Greater Boston area, or other centralized location, but no place in New England is out of the question.  We welcome your input to Zacciah, at zacciah@neshri.org.

NESHRI's Advisory Board draws from great pools of talent in the sound healing community, from the East & West coasts, including Dr. Molly Scott, Saruah Benson, Gail Byrnes, Kevin Michael, Peggy Black, Barbara Hero, and Christine Tulis. We look forward to working with each of them in assisting us in determining our future goals and direction.

We also look forward to your participation.  Member input is always important to us, and will be an important ingredient at each of our main events, including the Nov 6 Fall Gathering and Spring Conference.  Please come and join us, and assist with our growth and direction.  We will be looking, also, for those of you wanting to be local contacts for each of your regions.  We would expect this to include regular networking in your area for NESHRI memberships, fundraising, etc.  This will be the foundation for building regional chapters, and hopefully, eventually, community centers.  Let us know of your interest.

If any of you would like to create a NESHRI fundraising event, or support such an event by one of our teachers, in your area, please contact us.

Thank you for your membership, and support of NESHRI, furthering our goals to support you and others in the sound healing community!
Blessings in your path.
Good soundings!!

Volunteers Needed
NESHRI is a volunteer organization, and your help is appreciated. We need volunteers to assist with boosting our membership, hosting fundraising events, writing articles, and finding research grants and research opportunities, such as in hospitals or holistic centers. We are working together to raise awareness about the power of sound and music in healing and building community. The NESHRI family is growing!  We will also be looking for a greater number of volunteers for our next conference to assist in planning, admin, doorkeeping/ticketing, and general overall conference assistance, in exchange for attendance.  Please let Zacciah know if you are interested.
